The Forest (2016) does not rely on "found footage" to raise your hair. It relies on the existence of a Suicide Forest in Japan, also called the Sea of Trees, at the base of Mount Fuji. It is supposed to be a place where people go to commit suicide and locals refuse to get off the trail to explore this 35-square-kilometer forest. In the film, a girl is forced to go off the trail in search of her sister, who she is told ventured into the forest. What follows combines elements from many different types of horror movies, and is enough to put you off the woods again (in case you had recovered from The Blair Witch Project)!
